A Day With John Stevens Bay Marin Aikido is honored to host John Stevens. Born in Chicago, John Stevens lived in Japan for thirty-five years from age 25 to 60. He was professor of Buddhist Studies at Tohoku Fukushi University in Sendai, as well as the T.F.U. Aikido Club Shihan. His Aikido career began in 1973, initially training with Hanzawa Yoshimi Sensei and Saito Morihei Sensei. In the late 70s, his principal teacher became Shirata Rinjiro Sensei of Yamagata.
